DigitalOcean has recently introduced two new types of Droplets, which are Premium Memory-Optimized Droplets and Premium Storage-Optimized Droplets. These Droplets are designed to provide better performance for applications that require high memory and storage capacity and faster networking performance.
As you may know, DigitalOcean offers a range of different Droplet variants based on state-of-the-art cloud virtual machines (VMs) built on top of cutting-edge virtualized hardware. These VMs are optimized for Linux-based operating systems and provide users with a powerful and reliable platform for deploying and managing various applications. Each Droplet represents a unique server instance that can be used independently or as a key component of a larger, cloud-based infrastructure.
Today, DigitalOcean is announcing that it now offers Premium Memory-Optimized Droplets and Premium Storage-Optimized Droplets on up to 10 Gbps of outbound data transfers. With 5X higher outbound network speeds than their regular variant, the new premium droplets make delivering high-quality digital experiences easier than ever, and they will meet almost modern business and organizational needs.
Currently, DO Premium Memory-Optimized and Premium Storage-Optimized Droplets are available in BLR1, FRA1, NYC1, NYC3, SFO2, SYD1, and TOR1 data centers, with more coming soon.

DigitalOcean Premium Memory-Optimized Droplets
Memory-optimized droplets are designed to offer a minimum of 16GiB to as much as 256 GiB RAM for a droplet, ensuring that you have sufficient memory for almost all your projects. In addition, these droplets use NVMe SSDs, which provide enhanced disk performance for workloads involving many transactions.
Besides, you can choose between two CPU options that fit your budget and business model, including the Regular CPU and Premium Intel CPU. Prices, of course, vary for each CPU plan, as follows:

These Memory-Optimized droplets are best suited for memory-intensive applications such as high-performance SQL or NoSQL databases, large in-memory caches and indexes, real-time big data processing, and applications with large JVM requirements.
DigitalOcean Premium Storage-Optimized Droplets
These new Storage-Optimized droplets will provide the same RAM and CPU capacity as Memory-Optimized droplets but with higher storage. This special product line uses NVMe disk technology and offers 300 GiB to up to 4,690 GiB of storage, and you can also choose to combine it with Regular or Premium Intel CPUs for your plan.
DO Storage-Optimized offers various droplet plans that support hourly and monthly billing for you to choose from.
